• Can't say anything for this trip. The alone less except the maid took our "do not disturbed" and bothered us anyway.
• Everything just about for this trip, shower busted, coffee busted, funds on hold for no reason, snotty staff.

“When we checked in (for the 3rd time) the lady asked if we wanted to leave a credit card. Sure, not gonna use it - except a hold was put on our acct that a week later (today) is still not released. Front desk seemed very uncaring. Had to dollar meal it after that. We have been here before for 2 stays and a wedding, this time was ridiculous - but it has been 2 years.”

• it is located very close to the beach.
• it was old and outdated and the breakfast was awful.

“ The best thing about the hotel was the location. The furnishings were old and cruddy. The television was old and the cable reception terrible. The breakfast was cheesy and tasteless. The staff was limited to the one person on duty and because we left the room late on first day, we did not get our room made up.

• This was a very nice hotel with a friendly staff. The bathroom and amenities were very good.
• $16 to park and you will need to pay it because it is in a sketchy neighborhood. $10 internet and 13$ continental breakfast.

“This hotel is a very upscale nice hotel in a sketchy downtown location. Prepare to pay extra for parking, internet and continental breakfast. The rooms are very nice, but the hallways leading up to them are a little drab. The lobby is beautiful, but I felt that I was being watched as I logged in to the computers in the lobby.”

• Convenient, very clean, and well-managed. Double Queen room with nice kitchenette, stocked with dishes and utensils. Domino's pizza delivered to the room.
• I was only there for one night; there were no problems or issues.

“I would definitely stay here again on a trip to this area. It is very convenient to Delaware Park Casino, my reason for choosing it, and It's on my list of really good hotels at a really good price.”

• The hotel staff was very pleasant.
• The bathroom was repulsive.

“It could have been worsen, but it most certainly could have been better. The staff was very pleasant bit that did not make up for the broken shower, or the large clumps of someones hair in the shower. The truckers across the hall from me made me and my spouse very uncomfortable, this is def a place for truck drivers and night walkers
I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone with kids.”

• Great location just a short walk to the Atlantic Ocean beach. The bay side is also readily accessible by crossing Highway 1.
• No complaints, also it's possible the traffic on Highway 1 could be excessive on summer weekends

“ This hotel went way beyond our expectations. We stayed here about 5 weeks earlier and it was just as nice this time. It's located on a narrow strip of land between the Atlantic Ocean and Rehoboth Bay. The Atlantic beach is only steps away; for the bayside, you have to cross Highway 1, but there is traffic light at the intersection. We stayed on a Tuesday night just before Thanksgiving, so the hotel was nearly empty. We probably got the best room (no. 420), on the top floor, at the end of the hotel closest to the Atlantic beach. Our room had windows on 2 sides, so we could see both the Atlantic and Rehoboth Bay. The room was quite spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The room was also very clean and didn't have a hint of the moldy odor that can be a problem for beachside motels. The motel has its own ample parking garage -- great for a motel in this area.
”

• Front desk was extremely helpful and courteous, particularly Lucila Zavala. Hearty breakfast in hotel; convenient to travel to business venue.
• Not very good soundproofing; seemed to have lots of family activities going on with very loud children.

“I was looking for a place where I could easily get to and from both family and business in the area, and where I didn't have to worry about finding a place to have breakfast. I was very happy with the location and accommodations at the Embassy Suites, Newark, De. As a frequent business traveler in the past, I came to rely on Embassy Suites and am happy that many years later they didn't disappoint me. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Since they are very family friendly, I would suggest they invest in better soundproofing as there were kids in the hotel who were making a lot of noise.”

“The hotel stay did not finish as planned, in the morning the hotel did not have any hot water. The boiler stopped working during the night in the hotel. This made us check out earlier than expected and upon checkout, I asked the front desk if they could provide any consideration for our inconvenience and I was told they would get back to me and to date they never have. I booked two rooms for the night and this setback effected both parties.”

• I liked the convenience of the hotel as it was right off the interstate and close to where I had to be.
• There was noise in the hall outside my room at 1:30 in the morning because of people partying.

• Wireless was not reliable. Desk was too high to work on comfortably.

“ I like Marriott overall, and this hotel has a lot of nice things I've come to expect from Marriott. But there were several problems that significantly reduced my experience. First, the wireless did not work reliably in my room. Second, the desk was too high for the chair. It felt like I was typing up around my chin, as I worked at the desk. Third, the bed covers were very light. Felt like a sheet covering me -- so I turned up the heat to stay warm. Maybe I'm an exception coming from Massachusetts where it's cold, but it felt odd to me.

“My two girls and I stayed three nights. The beds were clean and fresh as well as comfortable. The staff was nice and friendly. The pool was clean and heated. Security was very good. The area was quiet. I would definitely stay at Doubletree again.”

• Guests in nearby rooms were rowdy and smoking against hotel policy and I had to move to another room because the smoke and noise were so bad.

“I would not recommend this hotel- not because the facility was lacking, but lack of response from hotel staff regarding problems with other guests and them not enforcing the non-smoking policy of the hotel.”

• Liked everything.

“Great location across from football field. Thought it would be noisy, but it wasn't. Also right near Fridays for meals. Great complimentary breakfast and pleasant staff. Only complaint was due to the large volume of check-outs, our room still wasn't cleaned at 5:00 p.m. The maid was very apologetic for not getting to our room sooner.”

• The hotel was filthy and the furniture was archaic.

“They initially assigned my wife and I a smoking room with two separate beds. We are nonsmokers. When we reluctantly went to our assigned rooms we found two unmade beds even though it was 10 pm. When I complained to the hotel staff, they assigned us another smoking room. It was the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in!”

• Coffee was available in lobby at all times, and hot breakfast was good.
• Our room had an obvious crawling ant infestation in the microwave + refrigerator area.

“The room appeared to be clean: fresh linens, clean bathroom, etc. However, as soon as we put anything down on the table or the cupboard which housed the refrigerator + microwave, ants immediately appeared. We couldn't have been the first people to complain. The problem was too extensive to fix with a can of Raid which housekeeping brought when we complained, twice.”

• I liked that I received a full refund when the hotel was horrible.
• Horrible staff, small rooms, should not be a Courtyard.

“I choose Courtyard because I expect a level of excellence during my stay. I really only want two things: courteous staff and clean up to date rooms, (no stained carpets, no broken items, etc). I booked our family here for two nights. The staff was horrible. From the moment they began to work with me in accommodating my reservation there was attitude. I was given the last room on the extreme opposite end of the hotel and told to drive around the hotel, (where they were doing renovations, and there was no parking) to unload our baggage. I finally get there, get through the door way and immediately it wreaks of smoke. I went all the way back to the desk, and was given another room that smelled like it might have had mold, (it felt like I was in a gym). I went to the front desk and canceled my reservation, (thankfully they don't charge the card until the next day), and I paid more money to go back to the University of Delaware Courtyard (built 2004), that was courteous and newer. Their rooms were literally double the size. This is my first review on here. I was not a happy person. This should be a Fairfield or something else. It does not live up to Courtyard standards.”

• For our purposes the location was perfect. Close to Dover AFB and family we were visiting.
• Some things need to be updated. Key card reader in side door was tricky to use, linens, bedspread could have been a little newer.

“All in all, this was a positive experience. We stayed Friday nite to Monday morning over Labor Day weekend. Staff was very accommodating and pleasant. Continental breakfast was adequate. Didn't get a chance to use the pool or exercise equipment, but both looked to be in decent shape. We will stay here again in the future.”

“The hotel room was clean and nice when we arrived. But what really made this stay great was the staff. Two older women were at the desk when we arrived. They were so helpful! They spent a little time deciding on the best room to give us (since they had options) let us know that even though we were checking out the next day we could still park in the lot, (and walk to the beach, where you have to pay to park), use the pool, and the outdoor showers for the rest of the day. They were so friendly! The next day at breakfast we saw a young guy was at the desk, and didn't know if we'd get the same treatment from last night. But sure enough, he was just as friendly as the two the night before. He repeated their offer from the night before, and then gave us some water bottles to take to the beach. Overall, the staff was so wonderful and friendly.”
