So I waited in the room before I went out for dinner. It took them 2 hours to fix it. I was starving and had nothing to do in the room while they were repairing it. ”
The Westin Resort & Spa Cancun
“The hotel was located at end of hotel st and bad. Good is great pools on ocean and lagoon side and not crowded.”
Crown Paradise Club - All Inclusive
“I was at this resort in October, It was the worst resort by far as I have traveled to Cancun many times before. The rooms were stuffy and hot, the temperature in the room was so high, we complained and not one answered our concerns, it was so hard to sleep. The bed was stiff and damp. The pillows weren't actually pillows, they were lumpy cushions the worst. The food was terrible, hardly any restaurants were open, the service was completely bad. The resort is old, not renovated at all. There was no fridge in the room so every time you needed water or a drink you had to go to the bar to get it.”
Hyatt Regency Cancun
“Very modern, clean and safe. On the beach. Great place to relax. Be careful that they do not double bill your charges. Verify what is charged to your credit card with what your receipt shows.”
Hyatt Regency Cancun
“Hotel is build in a circle -- all rooms are entered from inside of circle, an atrium which looks down to lobby. All rooms have exterior balconies, with varying views. They asked for $20 extra for ocean view. Nice pool, room was OK, but not large or luxurious.”
J.W. Marriott Cancun Resort
“The JW in Cancun is truly amazing! I am from DC and I am used to the finer things in life you could say and the hotel met and exceeded all of my wishes even if you do not have a lot of money. The smaller rooms are nice too. I got a full tour of every kind of room! I went to Cancun for pleasure and I will come back again soon and stay at the JW.”
Hyatt Regency Cancun
“Great view from room of Cancun beach. Looks like one of the best swimming areas in Cancun. Water was as clear as a swimming pool. Good Internet and WiFi. Had me sign a form that stated that I would not bring outside food into the hotel. We thought, this was a bit much. Overall great place exceptional views. Pay extra for the ocean views, it is worth it.”
Gran Melia Cancun
“Great place to stay, nice people (most of them), location is good if you want to stay on Cancun if you want to visit the pyramids, playa del Carmen, xel-ha, xcaret, etc.

“Overall the value is good, I would like to see one outdoor bar opened beyond 6 pm...as the lobby is not where we would like to hang out in the evening when visiting such a beautiful area.”
Royal Sunset Cancun All Inclusive
“Nice resort. Staff was always pleasant and catered to all needs. Perfect location. Close to shops and restaurants if you wanted to eat out of the resort. Food was OK. They need to change it up a little. Picky kids will not eat at the buffet. All in all was a good vacation. Would go again.”
Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort - All Inclusive
“We arrived at Moon Palace in Cancun for 6 days. Beach was filled with sea weed and smell from rotting sea weed. Beach was bad, food was marginal but plentiful. Just not happy with this place at all, wanted to snorkel, take tour of Mayan ruins etc, do the spa etc. This place is a joke. And to top it off if you really want to do tours and other activities they have folks in the lobby ready to sell this stuff to you when it should be part of the all-inclusive part.”

“
We spent one night at The Westin Spa and Resort July 5, 2010. Very friendly bellman and check in was a breeze. It was upgraded to ocean view room without even asking which was excellent. The room itself was OK. Floors looked unclean and there were strange hairs all over the bathroom. We had a late dinner at the bar, chicken fajitas were mediocre. The guacamole and refried beans on the other hand were terrible. The pool area was really nice, water was a little too warm but still OK. The beach area is decent. Didn't use the spa/gym or tennis courts but went up to take a look and the gym looked decent and the tennis courts are beautiful.
Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun All Inclusive
“A beautiful property, with nice pool, ocean view, very efficient employees and excellent service. All inclusive package was too pricey, but fresh food prepared in front of you. Must replace or fix bath rooms. Request for late check out was nicely extended to 3.30 pm. Will definitely recommend to others and go back again.”
Hyatt Regency Cancun “Fairly good hotel, however, our shower didn't work and the staff didn't know what to do! They moved us into another hotel room.”

“Very nice staff very helpful.”

“ The huge Palapa at the entrance made me feel like I was on vacation before even entering the lobby. The layout of the lobby, rooms, restaurant, business computer room and pool was very well thought out and very handy! We only wish we could have stayed longer. ”
The Westin Resort & Spa Cancun “ Great place! The hallways were a little loud, but that is to be expected during spring break. ”

“We waited thirty five minutes at check in with only one couple ahead of us. It was another half hour at the front desk since the clerk couldn't find our reservation. They though we didn't speak Spanish, and talked to each other about over booking. We wound up with a room with two single beds. Not very romantic. Tired after a four hour flight and check in, we were directed to a staff member who tried to give us a free breakfast and in return for an ninety minute presentation.”
J.W. Marriott Cancun Resort
“Great hotel, staff was very nice, beautiful beach and pool. Would definitely return. My only complaint is their excursions vendor is Aquaworld, which is located on their property so we assumed would be a safe and reliable company. They told us we were going on a 2 1/2 hour trip that involved jet skis and snorkeling which in reality was about a 45 minute to an hour. It was the worst experience of my vacation not only was it short it was pretty scary at times. Definitely stay away form these people.”
Hotel El Batab
“
I was only at the Hotel El Batab for one night a layover for a flight the next morning. Only problem is the lady at the check in desk did not find my reservation at first and after some back and forth I went ahead and paid the nightly fee but then she figured out she had actually searched for November and apologized and refunded the charge and was very nice about it. The staff, what little interaction I had with them were very nice, one recommended a restaurant that was pretty good and gave us a voucher for free drinks. The hotel was clean, the rooms were pretty standard hotel rooms but nice and fairly large too. Certainly not a Cancun resort but its downtown a 5 minute walk from the bus station to ride out to the airport or elsewhere for much cheaper than taxis and in an area where you just may interact with some Mexicans. If you want to go to Mexico learn some Spanish and stay here not in a resort otherwise just go to myrtle beach. I've stayed in much worse hotels for more in the states.

“Horrible. Will never come back.”

“Beautifully appointed hotel. Nice location. Great deal. However, simple requests for minor repairs required more than one phone call for service. Better supervision of employees to meet the expectations of guests' of four star hotels is needed.”

“check in time is supposed to be at noon. we arrived at 4 and our room was not ready .. we were sent to the pool where we couldn't even charge drinks as we did no have a room. Eventually, we got a room at 530 ...Simply unacceptable, but no real apology or offer of compensation”
Holiday Inn Express Cancun
“Addition night was over charge. No frequent transportation from the hotel to downtown.”
Hilton Cancun Golf & Spa Resort
“I was involuntarily moved from the Hilton upon arrival. I did not like this hotel”
Hilton Cancun Golf & Spa Resort
“Hilton Cancun is safe, beautiful, staff is helpful. Restaurants, including breakfast buffet are a little pricey.”
Crown Paradise Club - All Inclusive
“ Not a great place for honeymoon, it is primarily a family-friendly resort and there are kids everywhere. The food in La Palapa, the buffet, had many choices for vegan/vegetarians, but the other restaurants did not have many options and the food was not very good. ”
Royal Sunset Cancun All Inclusive
“The front desk told us their computers were down and we could not go to our room. A staff member had us wait in the lobby while a concierge told us about the activities they offered. I told her I wanted to book a dive and was told that I would have to use the one company that the sunset hotels use. Not what I wanted. They stated if I wanted to scuba dive with another company I would have to book it myself. I did sign up for a snorkel trip with the hotel. Throughout the trip, the hotel staff constantly lied to us. It seemed that the only thing they would go out of their way for was trying to find new ways to fool us.”
Hilton Cancun Golf & Spa Resort
“Friendly, obliging staff. Eager to help. Went out of their way to help us make plans. Fantastic accommodations.”
Gr Solaris Cancun - All Inclusive
“The food and service was excellent. The best food that my wife and I have had at an all inclusive resort. The staff was both courteous and responsive and our group felt comfortable and pampered. An excellent resort that was not too big as to get lost in at a reasonable price.”
Grand Oasis Hotel
“Where to begin! On Day 1, when we walked into the room with a non-working air conditioner; we were told to open the door. It was 82 degrees in Cancun, Mexico. When we continued to complain, a maintenance man eventually came and the air conditioner worked marginally (with continual noise thereafter). It took another three hours for housekeeping to clean the water puddle on the floor and the dirty bathtub (a hassle after a long flight). We had hot water only on the first night of our stay, no hot water for the remainder of our four days. We were repeatedly told stories ranging from "it should be hot in 1/2 of an hour" (stall tactic used late at night hoping we'd give up-which we did one night) to "the boiler is out" (aka "it's too bad"-"there's nothing we can do"). Our college age children in another room had the same issues. The toilet continually ran in spite of the posted sign that stated the hotel strived to conserve water and was Earth-friendly; they could have flooded the Sahara with the water that was wasted between the constantly running toilets. On the last night, having had complained all the 4 nights, we were finally permitted to use the hospitality room in another building (approximately half a mile away). We got a small bar of hotel soap when we arrived and a small shampoo. We only got another bar of soap and one shampoo when we took it off of the maid's cart that was parked in the hallway. Our children were experiencing something similar. The huge hole in the ceiling of the bathroom was a little daunting, not knowing if something would fall out. The toilet was missing one bolt, which made relaxing somewhat difficult. There was no slide to the sliding glass door to the crumbling balcony. The bed was marginally comfortable once you got past the thin, moldy smelling pillows. Front desk staff passed the buck nicely for the first couple of days. After that, it got old. When we checked out, they even got that wrong saying that they had expected us to stay longer. We read the reviews of why people were leaving the hotel early and most of them were regarding the plumbing issues. We were NEVER offered another (working) room, or a refund. We travel quite a bit and have never stayed in a bad hotel and that includes many third world countries. I've had better camping trips that were more comfortable and clean than this experience. Don't be fooled by this website. The pictures that they're showing you are of the "grand oasis" the place that they're using to "lure" you in. Buy a tent and pitch it before you stay at this hotel.”
Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort - All Inclusive
“I absolutely LOVE the Moon Palace. The food is excellent. The staff are polite, courteous, and very helpful. I enjoy the pool - it is HUGE! You can swim just about from one end of the hotel to the other under bridges; it was fun! The beach does have seaweed- big deal. We have stayed 'in town' before and enjoy Moon Palace much more since its more out of the way, not so crowded, etc. I like their gift shop also which had interesting things at a reasonable price. I can't wait to go back.”

“We booked Oasis Cancun for November 26 through December 10, 2009. This hotel has so many problems that we had to move out. We were willing to upgrade just to get out of the hotel. Problems at Oasis Cancun include: their treatment plant gives off a foul stench, which is only noticeable in the immediate vicinity of the entire complex. My wife has asthma and was on her rescue medication the 4 nights we were there. As soon as we transfered out, she had no need to use her rescue medications. The food and wait staff was terrible on several nights. (They were excellent on our first day.) The last straw was when the bath water turned brown. In our opinion, the manager clearly has no clue on how to manage the Oasis Cancun resort. The hotel was booked with 1800+ rooms which may have caused the problems. If you need more details, let us know.”

“I am really mad what people lie about. This hotel is awesome, perfect, cool, I don't find a word for it. I have no clue what these people are writing but none of those nonsense is true. This is my second time I am staying at this hotel. People are nice and helpful. When I arrive, they took my luggage to a storage until 3 pm check in time. I was given bracket to go and eat where great food is and awesome choice. Rooms are very big and clean, restrooms are very clean. Weather was not good yellow but if you let it run for 5 minutes, it cleans out. That's the only bad thing I had at that hotel res is cool. Pool is large and beautiful. There is bars next to the pool. Balcony view I had and beautiful one. They gave us, mistakenly, a room with two beds but they changed in couple minutes when we asked to. I loved my time in this hotel and I am looking for Next year again. I recommend this hotel for every one, family, young, or older, everyone. Don't believe those comment of ignorant people.”

“Great because hotel is small, about three stories, very relaxing, beautiful grounds very lovely, best beach on the bay side, calm bay side, no waves, perfect for those afraid of water, very safe every day to go in shallow bay water, no waves, safe and beautiful, original powder fine sand on beach, not replenished sand, (pre- Wilma sand, so soft.) Lovely beach, pool was nice, grounds super nice to relax and sit.”

“I personally enjoyed the mold. The respiratory problems I encountered were a fair trade for the gorgeous grounds and magnificent food. We ignored the filth, bugs, mold, wet towels, empty refrigerator it didnt work anyway, and the broken AC in the room. The door that didnt lock wasnt a issue either, we just packed up and took our luggage with us each day. The down side to carrying the luggage around was the timeshare people always thought we were just arriving and followed us around constantly. It was inconvenient at the swim up bar also, but after a few days we learned to wrap the luggage in garbage bags and just let them float near us.”

“My wife and I were defenitely impressed with the hotel's staff, location and most importantly, the beach. This hotel has the nicest beach compared to the more expensive, adjacent hotels. Moreover, the hotel staff is in a very safe location that is constantly monitored by security personnel. In my opinion, it is the best hotel that I ever stayed in for the money and location. Hotel also offers a fridge, a small kitchen and comfortable beds.”

“The bed sheets were not clean, the housekeeping did not refill soaps and shampoo and did not clean the room well, the room did not have free wi-fi even though it was advertised, the hotel employees said the room service dinner menu was closed at different hours and it took 3 separate attempts to finally order from the dinner menu, the reservations staff was not friendly at all. The pool staff was friendly and extremely helpful.”
Hilton Cancun Golf & Spa Resort
“The Hilton is lovely. It is a great place to bring kids, but not so great for a couple who want a quiet romantic place. The Hilton is located several kilometers away from major Cancun shopping and eating, so be prepared to take the bus or a taxi. The pools and beach are beautiful but they nickel and dime you for things that should be free: wireless internet access, a single bottle of water, fitness center use.”
Omni Cancun Hotel And Villas
“The hotel was clean and the King size bedroom was big. The service was excellent and the movies from satellite dish were good and free. Although my room was not facing the ocean, I had the lake view and on the side of the balcony I had the ocean view. Very quiet room. I did not try the restaurants or the swimming pools. I stay only one night.”

“I stayed with my daughter in this hotel few years ago and then one more time. This is not any super luxurious place but if you are on budget and considering a fact that you practically stay in room only over night - the place is great. We had rooms with balcony; all hotel was neatly clean, everything was functioning, room service was good. All hotel staff was very nice and friendly. Because we wanted experiment food in other local places, we had in hotel breakfasts only and they were simply fabulous. The hotel is located just on the beginning of the strip, so you could walk to many places and did not have to relay with every move on local bus transportation or taxi cab.”
Royal Sunset Cancun All Inclusive
“Just got back last week, wow, it was wonderful, would go back to the Royal Sunset next time we go back to Mexico. After reading all the bad reviews prior to our vacation, I was worried about what I had signed up for, I don not know where those people stayed, could not have been same place. We had the all inclusive, had more than enough of what we could eat and drink, a clean room big enough for four, beautiful balcony overlooking the ocean, great entertainment, the staff was friendly, answered to all our needs and location was excellent. We were treated to two amazing fine dining experiences with the Italian and Seafood night, one of which we were an hour late of our reservations, still was brought in and treated like kings and queens. As for the time-share sharks, the sales people were only doing their job for the marketing of business, and our meeting only lasted three hours, which really is not that long out of your day for the wonderful time you will experience. We had our free massage, all our transportation questions for our excursions were taking care of by the staff, and each night the hotel offered free entertainment along with more food for every occasion, I am a big fan of all inclusive, even had a mini refrigerator filled with juices, water and beer in our room, thank you Sunset Royal for an amazing fun filled time I shared with my family, will go back again.”
Hyatt Regency Cancun
“Worst 4 star hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff is want for local information or just unwilling to offer it up when asked. The hotel seems to be skimping on the little things. There is only one restaurant. But I cannot emphasize enough the staff is the worst, when in Mexico you can get excellent service at a 2 star hotel why bother with these guys they don't even have a beach and wont tell you how to get to one.”
Sun Palace
“These employees were so helpful and wonderful with friendliness and gave it 100% to get you what ever you wanted at any hour of the day or night. They made you feel very safe from all the locals.”

“If you're like me and have to pass through Cancun but want to stay away from what some locals refer to as Gringolandia, then this hotel is a great option. It's in a nice, quiet local neighborhood where we were able to walk to an a local plaza on a Sunday evening and grab dinner and hear some live music, in the company of locals. It was far enough away from the tourist madness but still in a nice, safe neighborhood and close to the road so that we headed out the next morning for Merida. The staff was very friendly and the accommodations were great.”

“When we got to the hotel, they placed us on a dirty room with a full bed and a pull down bed. After a discussion on the front desk, they placed us to another room with a king size bed and a small couch size mattress and the supervisor exclaimed that they have nothing else for the next days and either take it or find other place. The situation was very uncomfortable for my wife, children as well as me.”
Paradisus Riviera Cancun - All Inclusive
“They treated us like welcome guest at their own homes. Also, make it a point to say hello. We have the most amazing family pictures by the water. You will get great service without tipping, but AMAZING service when you do. Besides, the smiles you will get in return make it worthwhile. Enjoy!”

“Hotel was clean, staff was friendly, food was average. The beach area was a deception. there was almost no beach and once in the water, it was very rocky, almost painful to go in the water without shoes.”
