• The beds were comfortable.
• Internet did not work correctly.

“The staff at this hotel was not very friendly. The Internet connection in the lobby did not work at all. This did not seem to be very business friendly.”

• The staff was outstanding!

“The hotel is conveniently located 1 block off the Alster Lake within walking distance of downtown. The staff was very accommodating & helpful, by far the best thing about this hotel. The hotel itself was an upscale Holiday Inn - very nice - but not in the class of the Royal Meridian or the Marriott.”

• The hotel is still in walking distance to the city center of Hamburg.
• My suitcase was severely damaged by the hotel and I didn't even hear an apology for that!

“Usually I am very happy with this hotel chain, but this was the saddest experience I made so far at an Intercontinental hotel.”

• Very pleasant, helpful staff.
• Exorbitant rates for sauna and mini-bar (7 euro for small bottle of water).

“Charming hotel, with clean rooms and common areas very nice pool and gym area. Location pretty convenient and near public transportation and with a view of the lake. Professional staff. Only negative was a very loud party in the hotel parking lot during our first night that lasted well into the morning hours, and which the hotel did not seem to be able to quell.”

• The location is picturesque and far enough from the centre to be quiet but close enough to walk.
• Everyone smoking in the lobby - but, it is different in Germany.

• Formal and spotlessly clean, yet relaxed and friendly.
• There were no negatives.

“Great facility at a wonderful location. Only minutes away from busy Dammtor station and within walking distance of the harbor. At the same time situated in a quiet neighborhood in a beautiful locale, lakeside on the Aussenalster. The combination of convenience and peaceful seclusion cannot be beat. Very friendly and helpful staff.”

• Nothing bad, I had a great experience.

“Great hotel, convenient location. Traveled with a 2 year old who was jet lagging. Walls were sturdy enough to not upset fellow neighbor travelers. Jazz pianist did specials for the little one at 11pm in the bar, which was great.”

• The hotel's location right next to a lake is great and it's walking distance to a festival that was held the weekend of my stay.
• I really have no negative comments about this place, it was beautiful and the staff was extremely helpful and polite. Very clean and great location.

“The hotel was situated next to a lake that has an amazing view at night and a great atmosphere for walking with your loved one. The hotel staff were incredibly polite and helpful in everything including dinner reservations, calling cabs, and pretty much describing the city in an honest fashion. I liked that unlike most German hotels during my journey their bed for two people was one bed not two beds pushed together. It is in a convenient location and close to all nightlife. I had a wonderful stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone”

• Expensive rates for meals, drinks.... .

“This is a wonderful Hotel. Big nice rooms, some with balcony. Our room was with view to the Alster Lake - great. A quiet Hotel with very good service. Insidepool and only minutes by bus from the city for shopping, harbor etc.. The only little problem -everything is expensive- beer, coffee, coke......... Inside the hotel at the 10th floor (Germany 9th floor) is the Casino of Hamburg. In this Hotel you can see Pop and TV stars..... . We love this Hotel !!”
