“Great view, clean well-appointed rooms, and common areas. Pool was clean and fun, staff friendly. Hotel was filled mostly with other vacationing families. Easy parking. Excellent breakfast with
one child free with each adult purchase.”

“ Lower floor (floors 1 and 2) rooms have no views of the ocean. I got there early (check-in is at 4 pm, I got there at 2 pm) and the front desk was able to put me in a 2-queen-bed non-smoking room on floor 4 which they did not have to do and this made all the difference. All staff at the hotel was very friendly and accommodating. The pool is small and gets a little dirty but that can't be helped. Even the boisterous and imbibing adult guests at the pool were generally well-behaved. Wait-staff came out from the bar to give poolside drink service, which is nice and prices for poolside drinks were very reasonable. Room service was good and very affordable, nice to have breakfast in the room with a toddler. Soda machine by my room took our money but front desk refunded the $ with no hassle. Seawall location next to San Luis and Landry's is ideal, but for stoplight crosswalks being a bit of a hike (and grandmother/toddler not suitable companions for making dash across seawall traffic without stoplight protection, also it's illegal). All rooms have a fridge and our fridge was huge, 3ft high and 2 ft deep. Hotel is older, all rooms face the gulf, so hallway to enter rooms is outside, which is not as posh as the Hilton but it likely makes keeping things clean an easier task. After 3 days of room service plus pool bar service plus a pay per view movie, the tally due at check-out was cheap. Very affordable. ”

“Hotel was in a good location across from the beach. Pretty clean and rooms have been updated. Mini fridge and coffee maker makes it convenient to bring your own beverages.”

“I would definitely stay here again. We go to Galveston every summer and have paid much more for a room that did not even compare to the quality and price we received with this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised!”

“I stayed at this hotel with my 15 year old son and his friend for an overnight visit to Galveston. Our first since Hurricane Ike. It was perfect for us. It was easy to get to the beach and the hotel was clean. The only complaint from the boys was that there is not hot tub. Beach was clean.”

“The Holiday Inn Galveston On the Beach is a different hotel than the Holiday Inn Sunspree Galveston Beach. I met a group that was doing hurricane recovery community service (painting and tiling at Galveston Boys and Girls Club). The group had reservations at Holiday Inn Sunspree Galveston Beach, a very nice hotel. Because of the similarities in the name, I booked the Holiday Inn Galveston On the Beach. The hotel said that priceline would not let them cancel, and priceline refused to refund any money if I did cancel. I suppose the Holiday Inn Galveston On the Beach is an okay hotel for a pure beach vacation, but it is unkept, poorly maintained hotel with an unpleasant odor, and unhelpful (but friendly) staff.”

“The location was great but I expected a lot more for the $. First of all this is a motel not a hotel. The room doors open directly to the outside which I would have liked to have known before booking. Also, there is only one tiny elevator all the way in the back which, in order to get to, you have to walk past all of the cleaning services areas of the motel including huge mounds of dirty linens. We had a tiny balcony (two chairs fit on it) but there was an open gap to the next room's balcony so it lacked a sense of privacy and the AC from above dripped on you constantly. Actually, pretty much everywhere you walked something was dripping on you. The pool is in desperate need of a cleaning. Kids had scratched their names in the grime on the tiles around the pool.”

“When we arrived they sent us to a room that was occupied. It was quite a distance walking with luggage. They never apologized. The room they put us in was unclean and needed a great deal of maintenance. When we returned there was no place to park. And after driving the lot for 30 minutes I went inside and was told to park next door. There was no parking there either. We had to park on the street. The next morning the coffee pot didn't even work.”

“Convenient location to the beach and Galveston attractions. A small refrigerator in room. Do not get the 2nd floor rooms - balcony open to the roof top of the lobby - no beach view. Tight parking slots with mostly big cars and trucks park next to each others. No complimentary breakfast.”
